Public Eye Privacy Policy

Public Eye is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes the information Public Eye collects from and about you through the Public Eye Mobile Application and how we use the information we collect. By using the Public Eye Mobile Application, you accept the practices described in this Privacy Policy at the time you use the Application, and you fully understand and consent to our collection, use, storing and sharing of your information and data on the terms and subject to the conditions described in this Privacy Policy.  If you do not agree with any term(s) described in this Privacy Policy, please do not provide information or data to Public Eye or use the Public Eye Mobile Application.

This Privacy Policy does not cover the practices of companies that Public Eye does not own or control, or individuals or entities that Public Eye does not manage. As we explain below, your Personal Information will be used to help facilitate your company’s delivery and improvement of safety-related emergency and non-emergency services. This Privacy Policy may change over time, so it is important that you review this Policy regularly to understand how Public Eye collects and uses your information.

The Information Public Eye Collects

When you use the Public Eye Mobile Application, we collect Personal Information you provide, such as your name, email address, phone-number, and geo-location (to the extent you consent to providing it through your account settings). In addition, we will collect information you generate through your use of the Public Eye Mobile Application, including text reports and photos you submit.  Public Eye also collects information that is automatically generated through your use of its Mobile Application, such as the type of device you are using, your device’s operating system, your IP Address, the browser you are using, the way you interact with our services, and the referring website URL. 

We do NOT use cookies in our mobile application, but we do conduct basic authentication through the use of a username and a password.  We do use cookies in our Dashboard to keep administrative users’ authentication alive, but these cookies do not affect non-administrative users.

Do Not Track

Some browsers and operating systems have a “do not track” feature that lets you indicate that you do not wish to have your online activities tracked. These features are not yet uniform, so Public Eye does not currently respond to such features or signals. Therefore, if you select or turn on a “do not track” feature in your web browser, we may continue collecting information about your online activities as described in this Privacy Policy.

Notice to Non-US Users

If you are located outside the United States of America and are using the Public Eye Mobile Application, you should be aware that your Personal Information will be transferred to the United States of America, the laws of which may be deemed by your country to have inadequate data protection.  If you are located in a country outside the United States of America and voluntarily submit Personal Information to us, you thereby consent to the general use of such information as provided in this Privacy Policy and to the transfer of that information to, and/or storage of that information in, the United States of America.


How Public Eye Uses Your Information

Public Eye collects and uses your Personal Information to:

  • establish and manage your account(s) with Public Eye;
  • make the Public Eye Mobile Application easier to use by reducing the need for you to re-enter information.
  • operate the Public Eye program and deliver information you report or photos you submit to your company’ssafety and facilities officials;
  • analyze, measure, evaluate and enhance Public Eye’s products and services; and
  • maintain and improve the Public Eye Mobile Application.

Disclosure of Your Information

Public Eye does not sell, or rent your Personal Information to third-parties. We will, however, share Personal Information with your company’s officials when necessary for the purpose of facilitating safety-related emergency and non-emergency services.  From time to time, we may also partner with third-parties, including your company, to analyze data related to the Public Eye Mobile Application for purposes including, but not limited to, evaluating usage of our services or administering and improving the Public Eye program.

We may disclose your Personal Information to third parties in connection with a potential or actual transaction or proceeding involving a transfer of some or all of, or any interest in, the businesses or assets of Public Eye. 

Except for the ways outlined in this Privacy Policy, Public Eye will not disclose Personal Information to any third-party unless we are required to do so by law or if we believe that such action is necessary to (a) comply with a court order or other legal process served on us or assist government enforcement agencies; (b) investigate or prevent suspected illegal activities or protect the security and integrity of Public Eye; (c) enforce this Privacy Policy, our Terms of Service, or other such binding agreements; (d) take precautions against liability, investigate or defend against any third-party claims or allegations; or (e) exercise or protect the rights, property, or personal safety of Public Eye, its employees, customers, or the public.

Security of Your Personal Information

Public Eye takes security measures—physical, electronic, and procedural—to help defend against the unauthorized access and disclosure of your Personal Information. Despite these precautions, however, no system can be completely secure and there remains a risk that unauthorized access or use, hardware or software failure, human error, or a number of other factors may compromise the security of your Personal Information.  While we strive to protect your Personal Information, Public Eye cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us or through the Public Eye Mobile Application.

If Public Eye knows or becomes aware of a security breach of its users’ personally identifiable information, Public Eye will notify affected users or post a notice on the Public Eye Mobile Application as required by applicable law(s).

Children Under the Age of Thirteen

Public Eye does not knowingly collect information from children under the age of thirteen.  In the event that we discover that we have collected personal information from a child under thirteen years of age, we will delete that information. Changes to this Policy

Public Eye will occasionally update this Privacy Policy to reflect its privacy and data security practices.  Public Eye encourages you to periodically review this Policy to remain informed concerning how Public Eye is collecting, utilizing, and protecting your Personal Information.
